Why sell on eBay through RevolutionParts?
Some of the benefits of selling on eBay through RP includes getting an Anchor account for free, instead of having to pay $350 a month. You also do not have to pay any listing Fees, without RP you would be paying $0.35 per listing, which can add up to a pretty hefty amount. eBay is also a great way to get rid of any older inventory you may have sitting on your shelves.
eBay Managed Payments
With managed payments, eBay manages the end-to-end payments process. There are several payment options offered to buyers (credit, debit, gift cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and PayPal Credit).
The selling process is also extremely convenient! You are able to access everything you need, all in one place: customized reports, a single source for fees, refunds, labels, simplified protections, tax documentation, and payout scheduling options.
You also benefit from great streamlined operations, such as payouts directly into your bank account, unique order numbers for ease of reconciliation, returns processing, and the option to pay for shipping labels from pending payouts.
With eBay, you can easily ship internationally with the Global Shipping Program, which handles customs, taxes, and import/export fees for you.
Reporting is made extremely convenient, with features such as reports available for download and export from Seller Hub, and data to reconcile transaction records with your bank for up to seven years.
Would I be a good fit for eBay?
eBay is a great way to generate extra part sales, especially if you have a large amount of older/aged inventory. We strongly recommend anyone who wants to sell on eBay to have a DMS integration, to ensure QOH is as accurate as possible. This is due to eBay’s low tolerance when it comes to sellers cancelling orders, the more accurate the QOH, the less likely you’ll have to cancel an order. We also recommend eBay if you have a lead time of 24 hours or less, as this is the lead time eBay requires to become a Top Seller.
eBay selling standards
If you’re considering selling on eBay, it’s important that you know about the standards and metrics eBay uses.
Let’s first look at the tiers:
Top Rated: You're one of the best sellers on eBay, providing an exceptional quality of customer service as well as meeting minimum sales requirements for the Top Rated Seller level. If you're a Top Rated Seller, you're also eligible for the Top Rated Plus listing benefits as long as you meet the listing qualifications.
Above Standard: You're meeting our minimum standard for sellers and looking after your customers well.
Below Standard: You're not meeting one or more of our minimum requirements for customer service quality.
Now let’s look at what eBay uses to determine your tier:
Transaction Defect Rate - Less than 2% or less than 0.5% for Top Seller.
Maximum number of unique buyers affected: 4 for all sellers and 3 for
top rated sellers.
Cases Closed Without Seller Resolution: 0.3% or less - This means the buyer reported they didn't receive an item, asked to return an item, or opened a PayPal Purchase Protection case, you weren't able to resolve it, the buyer asked eBay to step in and help, and eBay found you responsible
On Time Shipment or Delivery Rate: 93% or greater of orders shipped or delivered within seller set lead time. - eBay recognizes on-time shipping if tracking shows the item was
either shipped within the stated handling time or delivered by the estimated delivery date. If there's no tracking available, eBay checks with your buyer. If your buyer confirms the item was
delivered on time—you'll be recognized for on-time shipping Tracking Uploaded on Time and Validated - 95% or greater of all transactions, top rated sellers 97% or greater
eBay evaluates a customer's performance every month. The length of time eBay reviews in
each evaluation period depends on how many recent transactions the customer has had. If they have had 400 or more transactions in the last three months, they're evaluated over that
three-month period. If they've had fewer than 400 transactions in the last three months, they're evaluated on the past 12 months. These timelines help eBay make sure they’re evaluating as fairly as possible.
eBay and taxes
eBay will calculate, collect, and remit sales tax on behalf of sellers for items shipped to customers in 48 states, based on applicable tax laws. To Learn more, please view this link: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/taxes-import-charges?id=4121#section4
eBay seller protection
Although rare, there may come a time when you experience fraud. If this ever occurs to you, you will need to work with the Premium Service Team on this matter, as they are the department that can assist with Seller Protection. The seller will need to show evidence (pictures or video) of the wrong part being sent back as well as any communication that was had between them and the buyer.
