How RevolutionParts Calculates Gross Profit
Recently RevolutionParts made a change to how gross and net profit are calculated on each completed order. Previously, all promotions attached to an order would reduce the total profit. Now, with the ability to tag a promotion as a “Manufacturer Discount” (screenshot below) these specific manufacturer promos will be excluded from any gross profit calculation as those are reimbursed by the manufacturer.
This is how RevolutionParts calculates the Gross Profit on an order:
Subtotal (excluding manufacturer promos) - Cost
From a Net Profit perspective this is calculated as follows
Total Amount (Subtotal+Shipping Amount-Applicable Promo Codes)
