RevolutionParts sellers can create Custom Shipping Mark Ups by combining multiple shipping methods based on different weight ranges or minimum subtotal amounts.

This need is most common for stores shipping small but expensive items that require a signature at delivery. With this change, you can have one USPS Ground Advantage method with a lower mark up on inexpensive items and a second USPS Ground Advantage method with a higher mark up to avoid eating the additional cost of a signature.

Follow along for a step-by-step walkthrough on how to set it up.

First, create a Shipping Method with your desired criteria.

When creating shipping methods, select weight range / minimum subtotal amounts to associate a method with specific order types.

For instance, in the above scenario, orders in the weight range of .01-4.99 lbs will have a 16% mark up applied. You can toggle the Method Criteria to “Any” or “All” to ensure either weight or total is applied or if both requirements need to be met.

Next, create an additional Shipping Method.

To create a second method that applies to the same type of order, click “New Method”, and select the same Delivery Type, same weight range, but now with a minimum order subtotal of $100.  Now, orders that fit this criteria will have a 25% mark up applied.

When RevolutionParts creates a shipping quote, it starts with the most expensive method in terms of minimum order subtotal.  If the order subtotal is not a match RP will move down to the next method until a match is found.
