Managing Operations During CDK System Outage

Summary

On the evening of June 19, 2024, CDK experienced a cyberattack. As a result, they disabled most of their systems and asked customers to avoid accessing their DMS until it has been secured.

What We're Doing

We are making a plan to help dealers update their RevolutionParts and CDK systems with the latest data once CDK systems are operational.

What to Expect During the CDK Outage

Orders

During the outage, you cannot run Order Export to CDK, and orders in the RevolutionParts and CDK systems will not be kept in sync.

Inventory

While CDK is unavailable, you will not see real-time inventory updates in the RevolutionParts Platform.

  1. You can manually upload inventory; however, values will be overwritten when CDK is back and Inventory Sync resumes.

Setting Your eBay Store to Vacation Mode

To manage customer expectations during the outage, consider setting your eBay store to vacation mode. Here’s how:

  1. Go to your Time Away settings in eBay.
  2. Select "Schedule time away."
  3. Choose to either allow or pause item sales.
  4. Set your start and end dates.
  5. Apply the settings.

Setting Your Amazon Store to Vacation Mode

To manage customer expectations during the outage, consider setting your Amazon store to vacation mode. Here’s how:

  1. Go to your Account settings in Amazon.
  2. Select "Account Info." 
  3. Select "Store Status".
  4. Select "Vacation Settings." 
  5. Click Edit and set your start and end dates.
  6. Apply the settings.

Next Steps

The automatic inventory sync will resume once the CDK system is back up. This will overwrite any manual inventory updates made since the sync began to fail. At this time, we’ll send an email announcement to all affected dealers.
