"Although we index billions of webpages and are constantly working to increase the number of pages we include, we don't guarantee that we'll crawl all of the pages of a particular site. Google doesn't crawl all the pages on the web, and we don't index all the pages we crawl. It's perfectly normal for not all the pages on a site to be indexed." - Google (Link)
Keeping in mind the above information, there are a few reasons why Google might not have indexed all of the pages on your site.
- You don't have a sitemap submitted, or the sitemap is wrong. This is very rare, as RevolutionParts builds and submits a sitemap during the onboarding process. The sitemap is resubmitted once a month to update Google with any changes to your site structure (such as new pages).
- You might have a brand new site, and Google doesn't know about it yet. If this is a brand new domain, click here for more information on how to let Google know that your site exists. This is also rare due to the sitemap submission during onboarding.
- Your site may have been indexed under a different domain name. www.example.com is different than example.com. If the sitemap is submitted under example.com, but you are looking at the stats for www.example.com you will not see the accurate number of pages that have been indexed.
- There are several suggestions that Google has made, called the Webmaster Guidelines. RevolutionParts follows Google best practices, but you may have added additional content to your site that does not follow the guidelines.
