First you will need to setup the conversion tracking action in order to retrieve the conversion tracking code. Follow the instructions below to get started…
- Login to your Google AdWords account here.
- Go to “Tools” then “Conversions”.
- Click the +Conversions button.
- You will now see options for the various forms of conversion types that you can setup tracking for, select “Website”.
- Enter a conversion name into the “Name” field. Click “Done”.
- Click “Value” and then select how to track the value of each conversion.
- The value of this conversion action may vary. Use this option if, for example, you’re tracking purchases of products with different prices. Later, when you add your conversion tracking tag, you’ll need to customize your tag to track transaction-specific values.
OR - Don’t assign a value.

- Click “Count” and select “Every” as this is the best option for tracking sales. Click “Done”.
- Click “Save and Continue”
Now you will need to get your conversion tracking tag. Continue to follow the instructions below…
- You can now review your settings and make any changes needed by clicking “Edit Settings”.
- At the bottom of the gray box with your tag select “Save instructions and tag” or “I make changes to the code”.
Now you will need to add the conversion tracking id and conversion tracking label to your RevolutionParts website. Continue to follow the instructions below…
- Log into your control panel and select “Marketing” then click “Google Tools” and go to the second tab titled “AdWords Conversion Tracking”.
- You will then see the space where you will need to paste the “Google AdWords Conversion ID” and “Google AdWords Conversion Label”. Make sure you only enter the small snippet of text into the corresponding fields, NOT the entire code.
- Check the box that says “Activate AdWords Conversion Tracking Code” and click “Save Changes” to enable the code on your site.
Finally, you'll need to enable ecommerce tracking in your Google Analytics account.
- Log into your Google Analytics account and select "Admin" from the top menu.
- From there, click on the link in the third column for "Ecommerce Settings."
Once there, enable Ecommerce Tracking and set both of the following switches to "On," then click, "Next step."
- Enhance Ecommerce Settings are optional, but provide additional insights about your Ecommerce Tracking. When you're done, click "Submit" to finish enabling Ecommerce Tracking.
When you're done, you'll be able to find all of your ecommerce tracking events in your Conversions section of Google Analytics. To get there, click on "Reporting" in the top menu, then "Conversions > Ecommerce > Overview" in the left-menu to see your data.
