If you are interested in supporting more than one language on your web store, then you will be responsible for maintaining content for each language. This guide will explain how to make changes to your primary language in the RP Platform and how you can update content for the other languages through bulk import files.

Manage Content for Your Default Language

If your web store is configured to support more than one language, then you will have the option to choose which language will be set as the default language for the store. The primary language for your store will determine which language can be managed in the RP platform, as well as which language will be selected by default when a customer visits your web store.

Update Custom Pages Content in your Default Language

If you’ve created custom search- or text-based pages for your web store, then you can easily manage the content for those pages by going to Settings > Web Store > Design > Pages.

From this page, you can see which languages have saved content and export the current content that you’ve created for your store.

Update Custom Categories Content in your Default Language

If you’ve created custom categories to maintain a custom list of products on your web store, then you can easily manage the content for those pages by going to Products > Categories. From this page, you can see which languages have saved content and export the current content that you’ve created for your store.

Update Dynamic Content in your Default Language

If you’ve created dynamic catalog content for the vehicle pages on your web store, then you can easily manage the content for those pages by going to Settings > Web Store > Marketing > Dynamic Content. From this page, you can see which languages have saved dynamic content and export the current dynamic content that you’ve created for your store.

If you would like to add new dynamic catalog content or edit an existing vehicle page in the RP platform, then you can only manage content for the default language.

Manage Content for Other Languages

If your web store supports more than one language, then you will need to maintain any custom content that you created in each language. This can be accomplished using our bulk import tools to import content for the language(s) that are not set as the default language for the store.

You can easily export the existing content for your stores from each of the following pages.

Update Custom Pages Content in Other Languages

First, we recommend exporting all of the Pages content from your web store by going to Settings > Web Store > Design > Pages. Once you’ve selected all of your pages using the checkbox in the top-left side of the table, then you can export all of the content.

To create or update content for other languages on your custom search- or text-based pages, you will need to upload the content using our Pages bulk import. You can download a template file by going to Settings > Bulk > Imports > New Import > Select “Pages” from the ‘Upload Type’ dropdown menu.

The Pages bulk import allows you to upload custom titles, meta data, and content for the other languages by adding two new columns to the Pages import: Language and Translated Name.

Supported fields for the Pages bulk import:

 

English - Column Title French - Column Title Description
Title Titre This is the internal name of the page in the default language.
URL URL

This is the base URL for the page, which should be in the default language.


Example: search-page

Page Type Type de page There are two page types: text and search. Text pages contain custom text, whereas, Search pages contain search keywords to build a list of products.
Published Publié This setting will determine if the page is published or not regardless of the language. The accepted values for this column are: 1 = True/Vrai and 0 = False/Faux.
H1 H1 This is the page title that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Meta Title Titre méta This is the meta title that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Meta Description Description méta This is the meta description that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Search Filter Year Filtre de recherche Année This is the Year that can be used to refine the search results on the page.
Search Filter Make Filtre de recherche Marque This is the Make that can be used to refine the search results on the page.
Search Filter Model Filtre de recherche Modèle This is the Model that can be used to refine the search results on the page.
Search Categories Catégories de recherche This is the search category that can be used to build search results on the page.
Search Terms Termes de recherche These are the search keywords that can be used to build search results on the page.
Content Contenu This is optional page content, which can be customized based on language.
Featured On Home Page En vedette sur la page d’accueil This is a base setting that will determine if the page is featured on the home page. The accepted values for this column are: 1 = True/Vrai and 0 = False/Faux.
Language Langue If you are editing the English content, then enter en_US here. If you are editing the Français content, then enter fr_CA here.
Translated Name Nom traduit This is the internal name of the page for the other languages on your web store.

Follow these steps once you’ve updated the content in your Pages bulk upload file and you’re ready to import your content changes.

  1. Go to Settings > Bulk > Imports
  2. Select “New Import” in the top right corner of the page.
  3. Choose “Pages” for the “Upload Type”.
  4. Upload your CSV file.
  5. Optional: If you have more than one web store, make sure to select the correct Target Store.
  6. When you’re done, click on “Upload File”.

Once you upload the file, you can track the progress of your import from the Bulk Imports page. If there are any warnings or errors with your file, these will be available once your file finishes processing.

Update Custom Categories Content in Other Languages

First, we recommend exporting all of the Categories content from your web store by going to Products > Categories, then select “Export Content”.

To create or update content for other languages on your custom custom category pages, you will need to upload the content using our Custom Categories bulk import. You can download a template file by going to Settings > Bulk > Imports > New Import > Select “Custom Categories” from the ‘Upload Type’ dropdown menu.

The Custom Categories bulk import allows you to upload custom titles, meta data, and content for the other languages by adding two new columns to the Custom Categories import: Language and Translated Name.

Supported fields for the Custom Categories bulk import:

 

English - Column Title French - Column Title Description
Name Nom This is the internal name of the page in the default language.
Current Path Chemin actuel

This is the base category path for the page, which should be in the default language. The levels in the category path should be separated by “>”.


Example: Top Level>Second Level

Updated Path Chemin mis à jour

This is the new category path for the page, which should be in the default language.


Example: First Level>Second Level

H1 Title Titre H1 This is the page title that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Meta Title Titre méta This is the meta title that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Meta Description Description méta This is the meta description that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Category Image Location Catégorie Image Emplacement This will determine where the featured image will appear. The accepted values for this column are: “category, category and parent, or parent”.
Show Subcategory Products Afficher les produits de la sous-catégorie This will determine if the list of products will be visible on the custom category page. The accepted values for this column are: 1 = True/Vrai and 0 = False/Faux.
Content Contenu This is optional page content, which can be customized based on language.
Language Langue If you are editing the English content, then enter en_US here. If you are editing the Français content, then enter fr_CA here.
Translated Name Nom traduit This is the internal name of the page for the other languages on your web store.

Page Type Type de page

This will determine which page type you’ll add the dynamic content to: vehicle or category.


Note: Adding dynamic content to a category page requires a special configuration. Please reach out to RevolutionParts Support if you have questions.

Make Marque Enter a Make value when you want to target a specific make on your web store.
Model Modèle Enter a Model value when you want to target a specific vehicle model on your web store.
Year Année Enter a Year value when you want to target a specific vehicle year on your web store.
Position Position This setting will determine if the dynamic content appears above (Position = Top) or below (Position = Bottom) the vehicle filters on the page.
Content Contenu Enter the custom content that you’d like to add to the targeted page, which can be customized based on language.
H1 Title Titre H1 Enter the custom H1 Title that you’d like to add to the targeted page, which can be customized based on language.
Meta Title Titre méta This is the meta title that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Meta Description Description méta This is the meta description that appears on your web store, which should be customized based on language.
Category Catégorie If your web store is configured to support dynamic content on category pages, then you can enter the category from the catalog here.
Subcategory Sous-catégorie If your web store is configured to support dynamic content on category pages, then you can enter the subcategory from the catalog here.
Index Index This setting will determine if the page can be indexed by search engines. The accepted values for this column are: 1 = True/Vrai and 0 = False/Faux.
Language Langue If you are editing the English content, then enter en_US here. If you are editing the Français content, then enter fr_CA here.

Follow these steps once you’ve updated the content in your Dynamic Content bulk upload file and you’re ready to import your content changes.
